ST. GEORGES LYCABETTUS Hotel – Cat. 5* - Kolonaki area
Kolonaki is one of the oldest, most upscale and popular neighbourhoods of Athens, the Mayfair of
the city. It has always been a trend-setting area and all major commercial
brand names open their boutiques first in Kolonaki. The hotel is up on the
hill, and this elevated position offers great views to the Acropolis, the
sprawling city and Lycabettus Hill.

Fully renovated prior to the Olympic Games in 2004, the hotel has been beautifully redecorated, a combination of
classic elements, ultra modern fabrics and colonial style touches. It
features 157 rooms and suites, all with private facilities, hairdryer, A/C,
satellite TV with pay channels, radio, mini-bar, direct dial-phone with
voice mail (private lines also available), safety box, fast Internet access,
in-room fax, tea & coffee making facilities and trouser press. The
exterior rooms also have a private balcony with view to the Acropolis or
Lycabettus Hill, whereas the interior ones have view to hotel’s quadrangle.

The hotel has assigned two floors to corporate guests, who enjoy a number of privileges including priority check-in, express check-out, complimentary
newspaper and a welcome gift upon arrival. Rooms for disabled guests are also available.
All guests have at their disposal two fine restaurants, the Le Grand Balcon with its stunning views of the city and the
Acropolis and its refined international cuisine, and The Frame, a lounge
bar-restaurant in a canopied garden open for lunch and dinner. The
Cocktail Bar is a comfortable, cosy corner for reading and relaxing over
a drink. In the summer months one can also take advantage of the
roof-top swimming pool, where there is also a bar that serves drinks and light snacks.
Other facilities include the Sensia Spa for relaxing treatments; a gym studio with the latest work-out machines, steam bath,
hamam rooms, an in-house hairdressing salon, a boutique with designer
clothes, a gift shop that also has a newsstand, a business room with
Internet access, computer, fax and photocopying facilities and an
underground parking (for a fee). The hotel also offers conference rooms
for meetings and social events. The St. George is within walking
distance to the shopping area of Kolonaki, down town Syntagma square and
Plaka but it can be strenuous going uphill on the way back. The hotel
operates a shuttle service to the city centre. They also have very low rates for August. |
