Epirus is in the northwest corner of Greece and contains some of the most beautiful mountain areas as well as a dramatic coastline. Though it gets more rain than most of Greece you can still pretty much count on sunny weather from May through September and sometimes well into October and November. Known for its wildlife, hiking trails, cold mountain rivers and streams, the area is popular for adventurous tourists many who visit the impressive Vikos Gorge and the Pindos Mountains. Coastal towns like Parga and Preveza see their share of tourism due to their beautiful beaches but the centerpiece of Epirus is the town of Ioannina, a university town on a lake, that may be the coolest place you have never heard of. With Greece's brand new motorway system getting to and around Epirus is easier than ever. For more information see Marc Dubin's Guide to Ipiros Click on the links below to see my recommended hotels followed by other highly rated accommodations. A great way to plan your trip is my Create-an-itinerary page which allows you to put together a custom itinerary with the help of a travel agency with no obligation to book. You can find recommended travel agencies on Matt's Travel Agencies and Tours Page. Because many of these hotels you are going directly to the hotel’s booking page you won’t find customers reviews and the descriptions were written by the hotels. You can find reviews by googling the name of the hotel and location or Searching Booking.com. But please come back here to book the hotel and help support my websites. Or get assistance from one of my reliable travel agencies. |
You can use Matt's Create an Itinerary Form or visit the website of Fantasy Travel who can assist you with hotels, ferries and putting your trip together.
