Nafplio-Argolis
Nafplion is like being on a Greek island, except you can drive there. It is also central for seeing all the ancient sites of the Argolis. With loads of small hotels and pensions in historic buildings you will feel like you are in another century. Lots of great restaurants and nearby beaches, museums and shopping, if you like the Plaka in Athens then you will love Nafplion. You will want to stay in the old city and those are the hotels I have recommended. If you can't find availability try contacting Fantasy Travel and they may have something. Taxi Driver.
For groups of 4 it is cheaper to use George than to go on a tour-bus
since George charges by the trip and tours charge per-person. He will also book your hotels for you.
For car rentals I recommend Swift-Avanti Car Rentals who will not only drive you out of Athens but they have nice cars and have not raised their rates in about 20 years.
