This beautifully restored
house in the medieval town of Molyvos was finished in the summer
of 2003. The first people to rent it booked it for a week. After
a few days they changed the tickets for their return flights
and booked it for another three weeks. The Captain's View is truly
a labor of love from Melinda and her husband Theo who are both
quite proud of it for good reason. Built on the side of the
mountain there are two entrances, one to the bedrooms on the
lower floor and the other to the kitchen and living room above.
The bedrooms are tasetfully decorated with antiques and two
very large double beds. Each bedroom has its own bathroom, one
with a shower and the other with a very large bathtub-jacuzzi.
The kitchen is fully equipped with a fridge,
stove-oven, micro-wave, all the cooking and eating utensils
you need and a big wooden table that can seat a large family.
The living room has a large and comfortable
couch which converts into a double bed. From the living room
a glass door leads to the balcony with a view of the village,
the port, the beach, the sea and western Lesvos and the lovely
sunsets you get on this part of the island. If you begin your
evenings here with a drink and meze you may never go out.
Above the living room is a loft with more
sleeping area or television viewing, perfect for children. The
house is well air-conditioned and heated for year-round rental.
It is located a block from the market
street, right above the art school and a few steps from
the traditional bakery. Everywhere is within walking distance.
